Mountain Bike Manufacturing Process: From Tube to Box

Knowing the build process helps a brand judge a factory and set realistic lead times. Here is the MEIRX flow, end to end.

1. Tube forming

Aluminum and steel tubes are cut, mitered and shaped (hydroforming where the design calls for it) to the frame geometry. This is where fit and ride character are set.

2. Welding

Frame and fork are welded on jigs for repeatable alignment. Weld quality is the backbone of a safe, durable bike - it is checked before any paint goes on.

3. Paint

After surface prep, frames are painted and cured in your colorway. Paint batches are the reason a full container is more cost-efficient than a few units.

4. Assembly and QC

Components go on, then the bike passes quality control and is packaged for ocean freight. MEIRX runs an ISO 9001 quality system and builds to the ISO 4210 safety standard.

Why one plant matters

When forming, welding, paint and assembly sit under one roof (as at MEIRX), lead time and consistency are easier to control. Ask about a factory tour or audit.
